If you’re reading this, thank you. It means the world to me that you’ve taken a moment to share in my story.

My name is Sally Lucia. I was born in Pennsylvania, spent some time in Ohio, and by the age of twelve, found myself settling into life under the Florida sun. These days, I call the peaceful foothills of North Carolina home — a place filled with the beauty of nature, dear friends, and beloved family.

Life has taken me on quite a journey. Along the way, I’ve been blessed to wear many hats: loving wife, mother, sister, Nonne, and friend — especially a friend in Christ. My days are full, and my heart even fuller––and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If you asked me whether the road has been easy, I’d tell you without hesitation: absolutely not. But has it been worth it? Has it been blessed? Oh yes — in more ways than I can count.

In the Midst of Suffering was written out of an act of obedience to God. As I walk through life as a quadrilateral amputee and reflect on all that He has done — and continues to do — for me, I knew I had to share my story. But it took time. For years, I struggled to get the words onto paper. Then 2024 happened, with all its tragedies… and suddenly, I couldn’t write fast enough.

I had to tell it all — everything the Lord had done for me, and how He so faithfully carried me through my suffering.

My hope is that, through my story, you’ll be encouraged to keep pressing on through your own struggles — and most of all, to surrender them fully to Him.
